“Step by step, persevere,
Mile by mile, keep going,
Through frustrating times, stay strong.
Keep trying, and eventually you’ll get there,
Because practice doesn’t make perfect,
Believing in yourself is all it takes.

There is a story of a girl who idolized her mother's artistic talent, and wanted to be able to create things the same way. The girl, humored and supported by her mother then drew with abandon, and crafted to her heart's desire. She loved creating images; pictures and words came forth from her pencils. She wrote about what she saw, and drew about what she wrote, and her stories reflected her creativity in depth. However, she didn’t have many interests; the internet changed that dramatically. She joined deviantART and Fanfiction.net, and her ego dropped greatly as she took in the beautiful and masterful creations of the sites. After some time she recalled fuzzy memories of an anime when she was small, and looked up InuYasha on the net, only to quickly lose interest. In seventh grade she was introduced to FullMetal Alchemist, and a love for the dub bloomed. Not a month later, another good friend showed her a funny english dubbed anime about the misadventures of a teen detective who shrunk, and there was much rejoicing. Through 131 dubbed episodes-- without hesitation she leaped into the subs by a different name: Detective Conan. Thus a deep yearning inside of her to learn more of this fantastic language called Japanese developed.

Now, the girl's only wish is to become renowned in some way for her art, become bi- or tri-lingual, and pave her own road.

Let's just hope she won't put it off 'til tomorrow.

Hi, I'm Nikki and I'm pretty friendly. (: I'm fourteen, and I have a lot of ambition. My little quote up there probably told you that already, but who doesn't love redundancy? <3 I'm procrastinating learning Japanese, and considering French in high school, and I want to go into some business where I can freely express my ideas with my art; whether it's writing or purely visual, I don't particularly mind. So long as I can write to be understood, draw to be perceived, and in all convey my inspirations, I'll be perfectly content in all that I do.

Another thing:

I am Christian, and unafraid to admit that Jesus Christ is my Savior . Wherever I go I know that his grace carries me, and that I am an example of that grace for all to see. What Would Jesus Do?~

So my mom's finally got her book, Quest of the Evensongs published! (She did it herself, at Smashwords.com) She worked on it off and on for years, until this year when she sat down and really wrote it out. She asked me to do the cover art:

And so it became. There are some aspects I'm unhappy with (and I'll save you the monologue, haha) but I can deal with those later as I suppose I'm pleased enough with it as is. <3 Anyways, check out the book, guys! It's a great read; and the first three chapters are free! (:

Find me at my other sites!

Contact me over at dA if you want to know what I've been up to.. I used to write a lot of fanfiction and other materials, but that's kind of died off since I started getting so much into visual media.. At the moment all I'm really focused on is drawing, drawing, and more drawing! I still write the occasional poem; those are posted on dA, but my focus has shifted into the visual arts for now. :)

Later!
